Mondrian Wall
Iconic pieces of art and celebrity performers are created from many components. In the world of rap and hip hop, star performers depend upon the skills of the people who write beats to accompany their raps. My collaboration with the photographer, Sequoia Emanuelle, in a branding shoot for a talented, LA-based, beat-writing team, was inspired by this concept and our clients’ own vivid energy and collection of 80’s mixing boards and turntables. Just as the stunning artwork of Mondrian is built from varying blocks of color and shape, I envisioned my own “Mondrian Wall” as the backdrop for this shoot, with brightly painted 80s boom boxes representing our client’s contribution to the artistic product.
